Artificial Topography

Big Furniture Like a Cave This is the award-winning project won the Grand Prize of Art in Container International Competition. My idea is to hollow out the volume inside a container in order to build amorphous space like a cave. It is made of only plastic material. About 1000 sheets of the soft plastic material of 10-mm thickness were cut down in contour line form and were laminated like stratum. This is not only art but also big furniture. Because all the portions are soft like a sofa, and person who enter into this space can relax by finding the place suitable for the form of its own body.

Domescape

This is an installation commisioned by the National Museum of Singapore for Children's Season , co curated with Playeum, and is designed as a playground with 3 big telescope. These telescopes tap on a child's natural inquisitive nature to look through a telescope. Each telescope is angled at a specific urban object in the city and with graphics added to the lens , allowing the children to see our city in a different light. The impetus of this installation is to encourage the children to think beyond what they see and to let what they observe in the city be a base for further imagination.

organica

ORGANICA is Fabrizio´s philosophical portrayal of any organic system in which all parts are interconnected to give existence. The design was based on the complexity of the human body and the human pre-conception. The viewer is lead into a sublime journey. The doorway to this trip are two massive wooden forms that are perceived as lungs, then an aluminum shaft with connectors that resembles a spine. The viewer can find twisted rods that look like arteries, a shape that can be interpreted as an organ and the finale is a beautiful template glass, strong but fragile, just like the human skin.

‘…quel genio di Arturo!’

The famous tale of Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp inspires the object’s shape while modern technology creates its magic effects. Made of a black carbon fiber epoxy resin, the lamp turns on/ off/ dims at the lightest touch. Conceived as table lamp, wall or suspension, this fantasy object is dedicated – on his specific request - to Arturo Brachetti, new genius of the lamp and internationally well-known, extraordinary quick-change actor. For him the object is called ‘…quel genio di Arturo!’. Suitable to create atmosphere in private or public spaces, as hotels, restaurants, SPA and yacht interiors
