Junone
Junone is a lamp designed as both a functional light and a sculptural object. The form combines rounded organic shapes with tensions inspired by the aeronautical industry, creating an architectural presence and a sense of direction. Junone is made only with 3D printed nylon infused with glass and 3D printed steel infused with bronze. A hollow shell reduces the amount of material used without weakening the structure. The lamp holds a replaceable and dimmable 5 watt LED and is operated by a simple switch. Junone is a limited series of ten numbered pieces.
Junone Lamp by Alan Aronica was selected as a creative representation of communication design by the A' Design Award. Junone Lamp was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Fine Arts and Art Installation Design in 2021. The A' Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which recognizes exceptional design of sculptures, paintings, installations, photographs, drawings, mixed media works, ceramics, art objects, craftworks and more.
