Kintsukuroi
Kintsukuroi is a digitally printed wallpaper for interior walls. The design shows a fine porcelain surface in blue and white that breaks open. Behind the break, a shining surface of precious metal sheets appears. The pattern recalls Kintsukuroi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, a practice that treats breakage and repair as part of an object's history and as a sign of resilience. The wallpaper is printed on textured vinyl with metallic finishes in gold, bronze or silver. Each panel measures 650 by 270 centimetres and can be cut to fit a given room.
Kintsukuroi Wallpaper by Elisa Tonelli was recognized as a grand illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award. Kintsukuroi Wallpaper was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Fine Arts and Art Installation Design in 2021.
