A Dream
The designer considers a dream is weightless and transparent. It can hardly be caught, and yet it is so realistic. He designs this installation as a way to visualize the metaphor of the surrealistic nature in a dream. Each curved member contributes to a part of a propagating dream. He places entire design setting on a transparent base with a light source projects upward to make it feel weightless like floating in the air.
A Dream tabletop lighting installation by Naai-Jung Shih has been selected as an innovative illustration of communication design by the A' Design Awards. A Dream tabletop lighting installation was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Fine Arts and Art Installation Design in 2017. The A' Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which rewards exceptional design of sculptures, paintings, installations, photographs, drawings, mixed media works, ceramics, art objects, craftworks and more.
